What are they doing? What parts are they replacing? Little more info is needed. $50 sounds like a good price for a valve adjustement.

i agree on the deal for valve adjustments, and the inquiry on what is being done. Usually spark plugs (platinum's) are changed and those are $48 (4) alone. But you can obviously do that yourself.

WTF is a "tune up" there are no bolts that you have to retorque to spec on the side of the head to TUNE UP. My brother worked at shop that there basic tune up which cost $100 was plugs and wires, so maybe 30 in parts.

my "tune up" would be at around 70-80k miles and would do the following....

Timing belt
Water pump
Tentioner
Plugs n wires
Fuel filter
Air filter
Oil change
Tranny fluid change
Brake fluid change (if you havn't done it in a while)
Clutch fluid (same)
Raditor flush
Possiblly the Raditor hoes
Thermostat
Valve Lash adjustment

Ask them what they do for $255.00 If it is all that I listed, defently not a bad deal. If it's just plug wires and inspection, tell them to suck a dick. "Tune ups" are mechanics favorite word.

DIY, that way you know exactly whats done.

This wonderful shop around her called "Kwik Kar" is crazy with there so called "tune up." To change the spark plugs and check a few things it cost 49.99 for all 4 cylinder engines. Now isnt that funny or is that just me?
