Default $100 intake and $200 exhaust

Where can a find decent intake for less than $100 and exhaust (cat-back) for $200? Its not that I'm cheap but i just want to get rid of the stock parts for now and ill do and engine swap after college and do good exhaust and possibly a turbo. My car is a 95 ex. I'm just trying to do as much as I can now without doing any engine component upgrade(i.e. headers, cyclinder head, and ect).

As for the exhaust, any name brand (skunk2, apex`i, etc.) for around/under 200 is fine, they pretty much have about the same general power gains on a stock 1.6 or 1.8L motor, it's just what you want in terms of sound. if you buy from an ebay store make sure you're buying actual name brand stuff, and not a cheap knock-off brand.

As for the intake, a pipe is a pipe is a pipe. Buy a cheap ebay cold air intake, then buy a K&N or AEM air filter for it, best way to go by far, and it's the cheapest you'll get away with.

Personally I like Vibrant exhuast and AEM intake.......Autozone has the AEM short ram intakse for cheap, you can find Vibrant axle backs or even catbacks for cheap on ebay.......All depends on how long you want to wait

Patience is a virtue. Shop around and just be patient and you'll find a good deal.

Like what Syndacate said, a pipe is a pipe, I have a short pipe with an AEM filter on my D16Y8 and it works fine.

As for the exhaust, be sure to get a name brand and not a knock off. There's no substitute for quality craftsmanship.

ok so i went to my local muffler shop and they priced out a straight 3inch to electric cutout (thru Ypipe) to the axle then 2 1/2 inches to the summit $20 "turbo" muffler.
145 (labor) + 150 (the cutout that i bought through summit) = 300 for a "hookup" with no catalitc converter....your shop might do 200 for a full catback...i dunno stop by and ask

^summit "turbo" muffler is actually very quiet when the cutout is closed all i can hear is the motor....but mmmmman does it smell lol

yeah and for the intake...it really is just a pipe that funnels air..back in the n/a days iid take off the intake and just put a filer over the throttle body and go scoot around town just for kicks. any intake will work you dont have to be picky.

You guys say a pipes is just a pipe.........This is true but it's better to use some type of plastic rather than alluminum or other metals due to the fact Plastics do not allow as much hot air into the intake manifold.........This is so because plastics are insulators and do not allow the air inside the pipe to gets as hot as a metal one would due to conduction......This is why most "TRUE" CAI's are some sort of plastic instead of metal.............

Also look around for small shops around town, we have an older gentlemen where I am stationed who did a full custom 2 3/4" exhaust for me for $180 this included him supplying the stick, welding, making new brackets and tucking it extremely close to the body so it did not drag on speed bumps........

True. But honestly, it's just an intake. You can't expect much performance gains with one, nor will you truly be able to tell huge difference between an AEM v2 intake vs a eBay intake pipe with a K&N filter. In the end, it's all about how much you're looking to spend.

For an exhaust (like everyone else said), I too would suggest getting 2.25" custom piping welded to the axleback/muffler of your choice. You could also browse eBay or the HT marketplace for used namebrand catback exhausts if that's more what you're looking for.

Good luck searching for what you want!

Cheapest way for cold air intake is get PVC piping with PVC elbows and play around with it to get it how you want..........This is effective as well as cheap as hell........For added style try rattle canning it before application LMAO........................In all reality it actually is the best thing to do for the cost and I know plenty of people who have don this and they tend to see better gains than I have seen with some of the AME's and Injens.........
