Body is decent other than the hood, still has the factory hub caps, odometer isn't too high, as long as the frame isn't fucked and the car runs, you got a hell of a deal. Bare shells in similar shape usually go for $500 around here.
As for the turbo build, the price is right for it, and if I were selling it, I'd ask the same, but I'll tell you what potential buyers are going to say - A B series car for $6k is nuts. Good luck selling it, and don't back too far off your asking price.

Thanks for the input man. I don't want to go much lower on the price, it's a beast of a car but it's just sitting in my garage. I think I'll go to some local shops and post some ads.

Hello all.
Where do you buy Honda parts?
FWIW, I have a 1996 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan and I'm looking for a new OEM a/c compressor (Sanden part# TRS090 aka Honda part# 38800-P2R-A01). I called my local Honda dealer and he gave me 2 options:
1) Re-manufactured
$602 w/clutch & coil
+ chore $50
Total $652 + sales tax
2) New (Sanden)
$666.55
+ clutch $230
+ coil $108
+ chore $50
+ sales tax $68.55
Total $1,073.10

Re: $The Value Thread$ What's It Worth? Should I Buy? What's the Cost?
Thanks!
First, my apologies...The correct NEW Honda part # that I'm seeking is 38810-P2F-A01 NOT 38800-P2R-A01, which I believe is for the reman. That said, item #: 222074820200, on Ebay; says it's compatible with my 96 Civic EX 4 Dr Sedan but the Interchange Part # 38800-P28-A02, is not.
Hmm? The more I research, the more confusing this is getting...
OEM vs Aftermarket...New vs Reman?...
With clutch & coil vs separate clutch & coil?...
Replace Accumulator/drier, and expansion valve?

Re: $The Value Thread$ What's It Worth? Should I Buy? What's the Cost?
FWIW...
I went with new aftermarket a/c compressot...I got a Denso 471-7050 from Autozone, which comes with a 2 year warranty. After promo, I paid $258 shipped plus got a $10 AZ gift card, which I plan to use on new Receiver/drier. I could not find a DENSO 478-2012 but my mechanic said Four Seasons 33595 was good enough, so I intend to get that.
That said, at the bottom of the Autozone Denso 471-7050 listing, there's a text link "Protect your warranty", which leads to a pdf that says among other things "Always replace the receiver drier/accumulator and expansion device to validate your warranty". The pdf also later states to do the following "Before Installing: 1) Flush ENTIRE system 2) Replace receiver drier/accumulator and expansion device and 3) Distribute oil evenly throughout the components- Hose- Accumulator- Receiver drier.".
I called Autozone CS, to confirm that I needed to have proof of these things done, "to validate may warranty" but they said "No, that's just a recommendation and will not invalidate or void the warranty, just ignore it....The store mgr will not ask for proof that these things were done, if you make a warranty claim.". Hmm...OK? Well, I was planning to have all done except the "expansion device" so good to know, if not having proof of doing so will actually invalidate or void my warranty.

Re: $The Value Thread$ What's It Worth? Should I Buy? What's the Cost?
Seller is asking $2500. Looks to have been in a fender bender and there's a little rust bubbling to the surface here and there. Driver seat has typical bolster wear but it's not totally blown out like you usually see. Broken passenger mirror. ~147k miles on the Odometer. Listing says it'll need a clutch soon. Thoughts?

Seller didn't post any. I'm not sure the seller knows much about the car. It's part of an estate sale.

Found an EK hatch '98. B20 non vtec engine. Unknown miles on engine and 127,000 on the chassis. Car is in good condition except some cosmetics like the windshield. No AC but has PS. Car is on a rebuilt title supposedly. Owner wants me to name a price. Aftermarket wheels and air intake. KBB says $1700. Don't want to offend the dude but it is a rebuilt title and all. Owner daily drives it with no known issues. I just want a daily myself and a project platform for later maybe boost and built. What say you?

Negotiating a Trade/Cash for a deal. H-T, what do YOU suggest?
Hey guys I need some advice. Im looking to trade my bike for a em1 civic. The bike is worth 2500. The em1 civic has a full turbonetic turbo kit. Treadstone intercooler kit. Rc injectors 750. Hks bov. Full 3 inch exhaust. Momo wheel and spoon shift ****. The cars paint is okay. Probably a 6/10. Its a california car with no rust or rot. 135k miles. It has a name brand half rad and electric fan. The kid wants to give me 800 cash on top also. I dont know, what to do. Can I get some advice. I figure it needs a fpr, ss lines, fp, standalone and pcv catch can setup. How much would that run me?

There is no such thing as a "Turbonetic turbo kit". Turbonetics manufactures turbos, but they never made a kit specifically tailored to these cars. We don't know what the brand or quality of the turbo manifold is, or the dump/downpipe.
If you live in California, I can almost guarantee you there will be issues getting this car to pass smog.
"Name brand half rad", what name brand? There are a lot of Chinese eBay companies that are "name brand" but still produce ching-chong bing-bong quality parts.
As for the FPR, catch can, and ESPECIALLY the standalone, those are all things that the kid should have already accounted for when building the car, or he didn't do it right. Most B series Honda tuners don't use a standalone system, but rather an S300 piggyback. If he hasn't gotten the car tuned that's a huge red flag, or if he just says it's "chipped" with no other information.
I wouldn't advise buying this car unless you're just looking for a toy and are willing to face whatever problems arise from it.

Re: Negotiating a Trade/Cash for a deal. H-T, what do YOU suggest?
It would basically be a car tool around in. Its a turbonetics wastegate and turbo with an unknown log manifold on it. Looks high quality. Ive been around auto motive my whole life and the kit was well put together. Treadstone intercooler kit and hks blowoff valve. The kid bought the car from someone already built and headed out to the marine corps. Now hes back and wants a bike. I have some pictures of the car andd engine bay. If you guys want to see them. Im not worried about emissions btw. Im just basically wondering if a 200 cibic si with 135k with no rust or rot and all the turbo stuff would be worth 1800$.

Re: Negotiating a Trade/Cash for a deal. H-T, what do YOU suggest?
It has a phearable.com sticker. On it the kid has no idea about any of the details of the car. You can tell he doesnt know crap. It has an aftermarket fuel rail and the fuel pump ia loud as ***** when you koeo.

He doesn't know crap, you're buying a can of worms and likely it's gonna have a billion problems and you're going to be getting hosed.
Unless your bike also has problems and you aren't letting on. Never 'trade' vehicles, especially ones that have been 'worked on' to that extent.

If you want a fun turbo Honda, just keep your eyes out on Craigslist and I'm sure you'll be able to either find a GOOD one that has a mechanically inclined owner, or a stock-ish platform to start with. It takes money to do this right though.
