Post Ek civic mini Cooper brake upgrade questions

Hello, I'm currently just piecing everything together for the cheap upgrade. I haven't been able to find anything definitive so I thought I'd just ask. The route I'm going is the 07 mini rotors. 2000 Integra type r calipers, tsx brake pads, etc. The only thing is everywhere they say ex knuckles must be used. I have some ex knuckles I took from a 1994, but will this still work with my ek. Or do I definitely need the knuckles from a 96-00? Any advice is appreciated thanks!

You need EK EX or Si.

I just did the same brake upgrade today and used 2000 integra LS 4 door front knuckles with the 2000 CRV calipers, itr master, mini cooper rotors and tsx pads. All went together as it should have with one exception. The anti rattle spring in the top of the caliper will not clear the rotor. I left them out. Seems to work fine with no weird noises.

That's pretty close to what I'm doing. I have the itr master for more fluid obviously, but would I need a better proportion valve? I can prob get the same one off rock auto with the right year but curious if I reeeally need it.

I left my stock 2000 ek prop valve in for now. Once I get the pads bedded in and see how it stops I might know more. The other limiting factor is tires. Currently have el cheapo 195-60-15 tires on it so grip is limited. I can already lock up the fronts pretty easy. I just did the integra disc brake trailing arms too so brand new rotors and pads in the back as well. Im hoping once everything is bedded in it stops evenly. Another thing to look out for is wheel fitment. I have the 15 inch 7 spoke 2000 si aluminum rims on the car. The brake kit barely fits. 2mm clearance at the caliper bracket to spoke and 5mm at the caliper to barrel of the rim. I had to relocate my stick on wheel weights to the inside of the wheel instead of the middle. I ordered 3mm wheel spacers just in case.

I'm now at the point where I don't think the prop valve really matters. The old EG6 4-wheel disc in Japan had a special prop valve....but now Honda parts out there specs the same 3030 rear drum valve for all the EGs. Maybe it's cause that's the only one they sell now....or maybe it just doesn't matter.

In lieu of finding a decent pair of knuckles and swapping them, Fastbrakes makes a kit to use standard Integra calipers and Corrado rotors: Fastbrakes 1996-2000 Late Civic 11" front rotor adapter kit

Regarding the 96-00 cars, if you have 9.5" brakes (CX, DX, LX, HX trims) you already have the correct prop valve for four-wheel discs. Si carries the same valve. EX trims were the oddball ones that came with a different valve.

Edit: Also, I have a bunch of this stuff for sale. Feel free to private message me. Civic/Integra Brake Conversion/Upgrade Parts FS - Honda-Tech - Honda Forum Discussion

Thank you all for the great info, still new to honda interchangability so this helped clear things up a bunch. I autocross mine so I already have 300tw on 205/50/15 on 15x7, hopefully they fit with enough room hopefully I can finally lock these up after this upgrade.

Double check your wheels in that size. A lot fit this conversion, a few don’t. RPF1s being a really popular one that’s a brake fitment problem child.

I have 15x7 -35 rpf1s, you think I may have issues with itr calipers?

You will have issues with clearance. I test fitted a 15x7 +35 when I had ITR calipers and they wouldn't clear. 15x8 will clear.
