"Upgraded" Brake Shoes Question. (Rear Drum Brake)
I have to replace my brake pads and shoes soon. I have my mind set on EBC Green Stuff pads up front, and Satisfied Pro Tech Pads for the rear. I don't want Napa, AC Delco, or Autozone rear shoes. I was just wondering if I should go OEM Honda with my rear shoes or the Satisfied Pro's. Tire Rack sells them as an "upgraded" shoe, but I don't want them if they are gonna be crap just like the previous stores I mentioned. I tried looking up a webpage or any information on those shoes on Google but didn't find anything. Opinions, including my decision with the EPC Pads?

Yup, stock will be fine. Can't comment on the EBC's as I have never used them but good luck.

Oh, another thing is, I know that our dealer here would charge an arm and a leg for OEM shoes. I could combine shipping with my order, that is another consideration for me buying the Satisfied Pro Tech's. ****, they want $45 flat for a fuel filter!!! The Pro Techs are $14.xx

I am in a similar situation. Powerstop makes shoes. NOPI has them for 15.48 each. NOPI also has Brembo drums for 24.07 each. Does anyone have any info on these setups? Sorry if I hijacked the thread.

I have a set of EBC greenstuff pads on the front of my tacoma and I'll just start off by saying they dust like a *****. Stopping power is pretty good after they are broken in, brake fade is almost non-exsistent. As for your rear shoes, good luck with those. I've only done rear drums once and I hope to never do them again. I suppose once you do it a couple of times it becomes easier but to me its just too much of a hassle.

Rear drums are panty. But EBC advertieses less dust... Interested on hearing more input of Brembo rear drum. I'm thinking they are just a direct factory replacement and offer no performance benifit? As for the Porterfield:

</TD></TR></TABLE>
So you are saying only if I am running a stonger pad than the EBC Greens, then get the Porterfield's?
EDIT: Did a quick search and thought I'd post a link . Porterfields and Hawk Performances shoes are quite a pretty penny. Post a link someone if you find a better price. http://www.livermoreperformanc...55697

Re: (phatcyclist)
for the amount of stopping power the rear drums do I would have to say its not worth spending the extra money on.. just get the aftermarket or cheap *** shoes and stick them in. your fronts will do most of the work so go and get a decent pad setup.. as far as the brembo rear drums.. waste of money

Re: (BatuKing)
funny thing is, iom spenging $20 less on the ceramic fronts and bonded rears than if I bought the OEM ones.
BTW: I got the pads and shoes today, not this weekend, but next weekend Ill be putting them on, so I guess I need to ask people if there is a good regimen for breaking in brakes...
