Some information for people that may not know exactly the laws concerning having a modified exhaust system in the state of Washington, here's the low-down:

RCW 46.37.390
Mufflers required — Smoke and air contaminant standards — Definitions — Penalty, exception.

(3) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the engine of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle not equipped as required by this subsection, or which has been amplified as prohibited by this subsection. A court may dismiss an infraction notice for a violation of this subsection if there is reasonable grounds to believe that the vehicle was not operated in violation of this subsection.

get a performance exhaust not some rigged exhaust. Ebay muffler and no cats is what gives you the **** sound. YOU need a apexi exhaust. some thing good.

^^Exactly... You can run any size piping you want, cat, resonator and have a muffler with a small tip. Remember your tip doesnt have to be any bigger than your piping. Obviously people like the huge tips because of the style. Do what you gotta do.

I have a nice 2.5 in. stainless steel cat-back Megan Racing Drift Style exhaust on my car. It's loud, but too loud. Plus it sounds great.
