uh that is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. No it wont work, and no its not a mini type r. you can mate a b16 head on a gsr block and call it a "poor mans type r" but a single cam will never be compared to a type r. Now in your case he maybe meant a "mini me" swap, putting a sing cam vtec head on a non vtec block.

That guy was ******* with you or he just didn't know what he was talking about.
You can put an sohc vtec head on a sohc non-vtec block, but that's about all you can do.

im going to give you the benefit of the doubt and hope you are new to hondas. but that wont work, they are 2 different series of motors.

Okay, i think this is what he meant. "I heard putting a SOHC VTEC head on a non VTEC SOHC Block bieng a mini me could be faster than a B16, it works kinda like the Type R of SOHC's" This sounds more reasonable.e

get off honda-tech now or start reading man...d-series and b-series can not be put together...you can take your d16 and put a nother d-eries head on it but no B-series will work....
the only sohc motor i know of that u can put a dohc head on is a f22 u can put a h22 head on it...and also i think u mught be able to put a dohc d16 zc head on ur sohc but im not 100 percent on that one...but questions like that wil get u flamed hardcore
