"b16 head ticking"

Default "b16 head ticking"

I just started my car and this ticking sound camr form the head! could it mean i need to adjust my values? Thanx

my d16 does the same thing, i think it's normal.

possibly, but the lost motion assemblies make noise as well. the LMA's take up the slack from the vtec lobes and keep them quiet. that is normal.

every honda ive owned ticks even after adjusting the valves lol i think its just me though

I think it also depends on the viscosity of the oil you use. Lighter oil will make your valves tick a bit louder than heavier viscosity oil.

Adjust your valves to the tighter end of specs.

im surprised nobody mentioned the fuel injectors...its probably the fuel injectors..

I've done just about everything but replace the LMA's or Injetcors and can't get my ticking sound to go away.

It only does it at 50%+ throttle while the car is warming up.

Well as we know metal expands under heat so yes when your car is warming up it does make a ticking noise due to the excessive valve lash

my car always does it. it gets pretty loud after I race it. doesn't seem like a problem.
