possibly, but the lost motion assemblies make noise as well. the LMA's take up the slack from the vtec lobes and keep them quiet. that is normal.

I think it also depends on the viscosity of the oil you use. Lighter oil will make your valves tick a bit louder than heavier viscosity oil.
Adjust your valves to the tighter end of specs.

I've done just about everything but replace the LMA's or Injetcors and can't get my ticking sound to go away.
It only does it at 50%+ throttle while the car is warming up.

Well as we know metal expands under heat so yes when your car is warming up it does make a ticking noise due to the excessive valve lash
