Default Wobbly at 80kms, but smooth after 90, and only on acceleration...

I bought a 2006 Honda Civic Sedan in January 2017. It came with a set of winter tires as well as fairly used summer tires, both on their own rims. It also had a new clutch and a used but good transmission put into it one year ago.

When I went to get the tires balanced I was told that one of the rims had been bent, but the technician had straightened it out for me. So when I felt the wobble I assumed that this was the cause. However, when I changed the tires over to the summers, the wobble was still there.
Everything else works great, honestly the smoothest shifting I have ever felt, and until you get up to 76kms, you don't feel a thing.

At this point I have been to 4 mechanics and talked to a couple more. We have checked the bearings, universal joints, replaced the spark plugs, etc.
One mechanic tried to tell me it was the transmission, ( funny enough it was the same guy that replaced the tranny the year before, but obviously didn't remember the car), another agreed that it could be the transmission, another suggested and 'engine flush', which I'm not sure entirely the point of... it goes on.

Could it be a bent rotor? though there is absolutely no wobble when I brake, and the brakes are great.
Possibly the engine/transmission mounts coming undone? though how that would create a wobble..
Someone even suggested it could be as simple as the roof rack, which we are going to take off tonight and give that a try, but I still don't see it...

Any help is super appreciated* thx!

Just replace the wheel. Rule out that wheel.

I dont know how the technician was able to straighten the rim for you. Its impossible with their tools. Most likely your rim is still bent. I have stock steel rims on mine and they are known for bending easy when you hit pot-holes. Only solution is to buy new ones. Also some cheap tires are hard to balance.

Try swapping the bent wheel with the spare tire..

Don't follow this advice if the bent wheel is on the front.

The spare donut wheel is only meant to be on the back wheels. Puting this wheel on the front can actually cause harm to your transaxle.

Hey,
I work as a tech in SoCal, and what you describe is the classic case of an unbalanced wheel. Try having them balanced again and if it doesn't work try a reputable wheel repair facility. They will be able to fix any wheel bends as well as take care of any cosmetics such as curb rash.

Warped rotors only affect braking shimmies so you can rule that out.

Best of luck in solving this problem!
