will an 04 motor bolt into an 06..
Guys, I found a nice 06 sedan with a blown engine.....cheep. I have a complete 04 parts car. Basically wondering if the long blocks are the same so I could do an engine swap by swapping the intake, exhaust.....usually stuff as doing a JDM motor swap.. Have done a few 2000-1993 swaps, but nothing this new.........thanks.....

I am not an expert with the 7th & 8th gen civics, but I am pretty sure the engines are different. In your case the 04 (assuming it isnt an ep3) has a d17 and the 06 (assuming it isn't the si model) should have an r18. Not saying you can't swap stuff around between the two of them, I just think it would be more trouble to make the d17 work than it would be to either fix or replace the r18 in the 06.

Thanks 1999, yes, I agree, a D17 and R18 sound like very different motors. Prolly should plan on swapping in a JDM motor for the 06......
