Very slight engine seepage/leak. I'm concerned! :(
I took my car to the dealer to have the clunking noise checked out that I posted about in another thread. Well I also had them check out this small seepage-looking type leak from the side of my engine block and they basically told me they would have to take the whole engine apart to figure out where it's coming from.
So they want me to "approve" the labor charges so in cause the cause isn't covered under warranty they would have to charge me for it.
Now my car only has 45K miles on it and the powertrain warranty is good until 60K miles, but in cases of over-revving, overheating etc. the work would most likely not be covered.
I'm concerned because even though I have not over-revved the car.....it WAS overheated a while back when I posted about the problem I had about a coolant change that appeared to have been done improperly by a mechanic at my work. A week later the car's lower radiator hose blew off and the car started to overheat.
I fixed everything and also put in a new thermostat and there have been no other leaks, no smoke from the exhaust, no driveability issues or anything of the sort as of now.
So does anybody have a clue where this leak/seepage could be coming from? Moreso if overheating the engine could have caused it? There's absolutely NO smoke coming from the exhaust and no power loss with the car at all.
I'm assuming the car's ECU is gonna retain the data regarding when the engine was overheating, so if that's the case and the cause then I'll need to talk to my boss about what happens next.
The mechanic at Honda that looked at the leak said it was so small that I shouldn't even worry about it so maybe I'm just over-reacting a little. But I would still like to know exactly how the hell this **** happened and if the two situations are related.
Long story I know....but any insight would greatly help clear things up for me since apparently the dealership hasn't really helped me much at all.
Thanx!
Here's a pic of the engine seepage on the bracket and bolt I'm talking about.......

Focus people.
As far as the oil cooler hose......there's a hose directly below that bolt, but I didn't see anything above it that was leaking. Everything I saw was on that bracket itself and there was a single drop on the hose itself with a bunch of dirt buildup. It was really sticky to the touch.

A common issue with some of the civics was an oil leak from the timing chain tensioner cover. If this is the case, it's not that big of a deal. Just keep checking your oil every couple of weeks.
