Default Use of an ODB Scanner to find MPG in 2010 Civic model. Is it possible?

I have a 2010 Honda Civic with an android head unit. I am interested in getting mpg data by using an odb scanner and using the torque or similar app. My question is, am I able to do this on a Honda, I remember reading somewhere awhile ago that the information needed for mpg is not obtainable through an odb scanner due to the way honda has their system setup.

Let me know if this is possible and if it is, if you all recommend a specific Bluetooth odb reader.

Thanks for your time.

ODB is ODB.

Not Bluetooth, but been using this for 10+ years in my 2006.
