TPMS Sensor Broke
2008 Civic Coupe EX: So during a tire swap, one of the TPMS Sensor broke off the stem. I searched on the forum for info on the procedure for replacing/relearning and can't seem to find anything. I was going to purchase a new sensor from Rockauto (Standard Motor Products) or is it better to get one from Honda (Honda Parts Unlimited). Will I need a special tool for programming? Can someone direct me to a discussion on this subject. Thanks in advance.

Re: TPMS Sensor Broke
If you buy one from Honda, all you have to do is bolt it into the wheel, air up the tire and put it back on the corner it was removed from (do not rotate yet until it has communicated with the TPMS system) and it will set itself. Buying a cheaper replacement (especially a "universal" type) from another source may require additional equipment and/or professional assistance to get it to communicate initially with the car. You choose.

Thanks for the reply. I talked to a tech at Honda Parts Unlimited and he confirmed that the sensor will program itself as you indicated. Thanks for your help.
