top speed

How fast can all stock civic go (including non si)?
After adding all the mods you guys have, what's the highest speed you ever achieved?

I'm just curious, I never had the gut to test mine out at full speed, went about 98 chasing some stupid subaru who cut me off and that's about it. pretty sure I can reach 100, mine is only a stock ex 06.

And how does all that dyno thing work out? I have never done it and have no clue what the graph means, someone piont me to the right direction to learn all these. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

I think the top speed of the Si is governed at 141mph.

Negative. I believe it's 157mph not taking into account any wind resistance. Between 130-140 in reality.

Re: top speed (yuning83)

Personally hit 132 mph, but my mechanics got it up to 151 mph on the dyno. They said it had more but were concerned about over heating.

Re: top speed (Hellzcivic)

130mph here. in my si.....but wind is a big factor.

Pitfan04 03-19-2007 12:43 PM

I know I can get 127 in 5th and when I shift to 6th gear the car just coasts at 5,500 RPM which is about 129mph. I dont know if thats an ECU issue or what....

Demonis 03-19-2007 12:46 PM

ii just replied to the same thread over on 8th before i went to class.... was that you?

Anyways, I dont know what the R18 (ex and down trim level civics) can run, but the SI can push ~156mph in america, where as the canadian models seem to have a governor on them. not sure what it was set to.

Pitfan04 03-19-2007 12:52 PM

I read all these top speeds... why cant my car do it. We got PLENTY of straight roads in Texas and my car just coasts at about 129....Kind of pisses me off.

Re: top speed (yuning83)

i have a speed limiter defencer,so 127mph,could have gone more but my radar went off

misterghost 03-19-2007 06:26 PM

i did 190 kph...its a stock ex coupe, it felt like did have more to give but i was concerned a little for visibility....stock lights stink

Re: top speed (yuning83)

06' EX Coupe - 121MPH on I95 coming from philly street races... Could have possibly done more, but didn't have enough balls. Maybe if it was an SI then hell yeah I would have tried it - https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: top speed (jayturboef)

I was satisfied when I finally hit 5th gear...I've been always trying to surpass 105 then I finally hit 106 but then slowed down cuz was scared of the cops...but ya, my top is 106mph atm when I only had full catback

That's the one thing I love about the mainland US. If you like to drive, the islands don't provide enough pavement (at least for my taste). I do miss the surfing the north shore....but driving fast gives me that temporary adrenaline satisfaction.... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

I went up to 125 here and could have definitely done more but the corvette and porsche that I was baiting didn't want to push it past that speed. After my last ticket, I'm not ballsy enough to do it without a car faster than mines leading the way. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Re: (MrCode)

i hit 126mph, but like some said, cops are a big issue. especially in the Dallas area.

mfinlay04 03-21-2007 05:52 AM

I've hit 127. I've got CAI and Exhuast on my EX. Could have gone faster but ran out of room

PsychoSiRex 03-21-2007 07:35 AM

Ok I thought this whole time my Si was govern at 130MPH or so, now i see all this higher mph's makes me want to see how hard i can push it, i'm pretty sure i land in vtec have to double check but i don't think i even reached 135mph. Is the wind that big of a factor???!!!

IT GUY 03-21-2007 07:45 AM

Re: (PsychoSiRex)

wind isn't a factor, but air resistance is. It's not that there is air blowing at you, but that you are trying to force your car through air, displacing the air. How easy the process is depends on the shape of the car and how fast you are moving. The faster you go, the faster you are trying to displace air and more resistance to the process will be evident in drag on the car. Drag causes most street cars to be limited to around that 130-140 mark you guys are talking about.

95turbodteg 03-21-2007 07:57 AM

before i took my car in to have the 2nd gear replaced i could get it to 132 before it wouldnt go any further, and now it stops me dead in the tracks at 128. no if ands or buts about it, it will stop going faster at 128. i was in a foul mood one night and drove harder than i should have and i kept trying to see what was the fastest it would finally get to. i kept dropping into 5th to get it as high as it could, but nope. not this time. dont know if it was just exterior conditions or what, but it stopped me at 128 this time around.

Re: (95turbodteg)

I had My 2007 Si Sedan up to 133 today, 15 july 2007. My car is governed at 133. I attempted to go faster than 133 five times and everytime the throttle cut at 133.
