Default Skunk2 Intake Review

Alright so I finally installed my intake 2 weeks ago and I have been testing it to see how I like it.

The installation:

The installation isn't your cup of tea. From watching the video and reading the instruction unfortunately Skunk2 didn't really put much effort in a proper write-up. It was very disappointing and could of save a lot of time with analyzing where and how the pieces should be placed. To me an intake shouldn't be something that takes 2.5 hours. The issue was the video does everything in different order from what you need to do first very confusing. After most of it was figured out it was pretty straight forward. My only issue that really aggravated me was that the battery was relocated above the coolant reservoir making it impossible to refill your coolant unless you remove the battery. Not very practical... they could of thought of something else.

Final Product:

After the installation we needed to bleed the system as we replaced a hose from the rad to the engine to make way for the bigger pipping of the intake. FYI there is no bleeder on the K20Z3 so just leave the car running with the cap off the rad and it will bleed itself. It takes about 15-20 minutes.

After that was done, I took it out for a drive and I have to say after the little headaches first impression was WOW!!! This thing sounds very deep and the power bump was very nice in the mid range to upper power band! Skunk2 designed a really good intake and I'm really loving it. The product works and also looks clean under the hood.

If you have any question please don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks bud!

Yes I have driven in the rain and I will comment that the position where the intake is located is well covered by the bumper and the inner fender. That doesn't mean that I'm still not careful. I avoid going threw deep puddles but driving while it's raining is fine apart from that!
