Ha ha that video of the ricer crashing is funny its like.... wha.... whaaaa.... whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa oh muh god oh muh god oh muh god ha ha classic.

But yea si only go to like 8200 so no I dunno... also dont go in the Red zone so stop when your shift lite starts blinking.... as a matter of fact shift before it starts blinking.... or youll be like the other guy with no clutch after 8000 miles ha ha.

also the tachs are off because your hitting 9000 when the car only goes 8200.... that equals not good!!!

Keep it up man. Then when you float a valve and destroy your engine.....which typically occurs at 10K.....or when your engine decides to finally take a **** from all the abuse you give it.....don't bother posting a thread in here cause we will already know why.

Hitting 9K once or twice by accident is one thing. Doing it consistently is downright DUMB. As it is you're already taking a chance with the 8600RPM rev limit....and though these motors are very strong, EVERY motor has it's breaking point. All YOU are doing is accelerating the rate in which you reach that breaking point.

Hitting 9000RPM is not possible. End of story. It's factory limited, and unless you downshift to 9000+ your motor will not actually spin at 9000RPM.

I know some of you say the tachs are off, but mine is fine.

The 'red zone' is no scary place that demons hang out... I drive my car my way, and that means I'm pretty hard on it. Boost + redline at least 5 times an hour if not more.

I can't control myself!

Anyhow, I've driven the crap out of the car, and a couple of missed 1-2's which resulted in bouncing off the revlimiter before realizing I'm stupid and not moving... haha But yea, never gone over the OEM limit.

well i dont know much about cars i couldn tell u how everthing works but i got a 2007 si and i have gotten it to 8,500 rpm in 3rd b4 and i didnt down shift i was just playing around with some friends and i thought the car would bounce the rpms at 8,200 when it did i looked down as i was going into 4th gear it was 300 rpm higher then i expected...so when ppl say ur car wont let u go past 8,200 unless u down shift...i have. im not trying to start anything im just sayin going past 8,200 without down shifting is possible.

cny is 100% correct. i am reflashed and i have seen my needle "float" to almost 9k. a few of my friends have also reported that their car appears to rev beyond the limiter. it is only the momentum of the needle. your engine IS NOT revving that high. here's a pic i snapped. my rev limit is 8600. looks more like 8700 to me, and again, i have seen it go higher. it's not an easy pic to get...

I would advise against trying to get the 9000RPM pic.....if you keep trying then have fun getting a new engine.

You may be right, but the fact is he claims to have VISUALLY seen the tach hit 9000 RPM while straight-up just accelerating. Which i'm confident NOBODY has been able to do in this forum. Even a rev bounce from 8200 to 9K would be highly unlikely. But i haven't mis-shifted at such a high RPM so I guess it could be possible.....although the OP claims to NOT have mis-shifted. That makes this thread puzzling.

So you went straight to 9000 rpm on straight acceleration on a car with an 8200 RPM rev limit?? How'd you pull that off?
My Si does the same thing fuel cut off is at 9000 rpm I don't understand eather
