Default Rear Suspension Height Problem

I had a noise on the rear suspension of my 2010 Civic, so I took it to a Honda Service Center for inspection.

They had to remove many of the rear suspension components and re-assemble them to solve the problem. No new parts.

The suspension has no noise at all now, but the rear is sitting 20mm heigher than before and doesn't seem to be settling after a week. It's very noticable and looks strange with a high rear suspension.

I had a visual check and the springs are sitting perfect. The only thing I can think of is they tightened everything down with the car raised on the lift. Maybe they should have tightened the control arms with the car on the ground.

If I loosen the bolts in the pic and re-tighten them, will it correct the problem

Any other ideas how to solve the 20mm heigher rear.

Quite possible...or they made an error in the re-assembly.... have it checked either way.

I think it's nearly impossible to make an error on re-assembly. The springs look like they are sitting perfect with no noise at all.

I bet they just lubed the bushings.

Did you measure the height before you took it in?

Probably just an optical contusion. It wouldn't make a diff. whether or not they tightened them on the ground or not. That control arm will swing the entire length of travel regardless of how tight those bolts are..

You said they removed most of the suspension.....really there isn't much to it.

Wouldn't worry about it

hmm the problem could actually be the rubber seat under the springs. if you dont seat them right, the ride height will be off. theres 3 little points that stick out that are supposed to go into the matching holes on the spring seat. just check it out.

I have checked the ride height often since new and always had a 3 finger gap Front and rear.

Even when I fitted my bigger wheels the gap remained equal, but 2 finger gap front and 2 finger gap rear.

Since they did the work I have had 3 finger gap rear and 2 front.

This is so strange, and makes the car look weired.

hmm the problem could actually be the rubber seat under the springs.
I inspected the rubber seating and they appear fine, everything is flush.

Check the springs, when our cars are jacked up somethings the springs like to move out of there seat or place... and I mean "sometimes".
