Rear End Alignment Problems

Re: Rear End Alignment Problems
My mom bought used 2006 Honda civic ex with 70,000 miles. We noticed a roar type noise in rear end and went to Honda dealer. They said rear tires were worn unevenly or on inside only. They never mentioned class action lawsuit against Honda for engineering design flaw with rear upper control arm. It's noted online under technical service bulletin for that particular problem.I noticed her rear tires were both leaning outward and wearing on inside due to upper control arms not designed short enough to make tires sit straight.Honda offered the correct control arm with "C" stamped on it to fix problem. But if you read online that arm won't be good enough to fix it correctly. We ordered the adjustable control arms online to make the camber go from -3.0 to 0 and for $120 a pair installed with 2 new Michelin tires it solved the roaring noise and tire wearing also.If her car would have been bought new she would have got the letter from Honda to have this fixed free from the lawsuit. But it cost her $500 to fix.I don't trust Honda too much now.She had auto transmission drained, flushed, and re-filled and they overfilled it by 16 oz.I had to remove a qt. to make it correct. But that happens everywhere-no good service anywhere unless your lucky and get somebody that cares about 25% that do.Good luck Saturn guy
