Ran my 1/4 mile today!
Hi all. I ran my 1/4 mile today at Sacramento, CA Raceway...sorry to disappoint you guys but my best run was 15.201 with my 07 SI Sedan. The only mod I have on the car is an Injen CAI. My lack of researching lead me to a bracket racing event in which I thought was going to be a test and tune day, so I only got two runs...the second run was sh*tty cause my car had no traction first gear with a 4.5k launch. My first launch was at 3.5k and I had wheel hop but it did grab...Hopefully the next time I go to the track it'll be a test and tune day so I can really see what my car can do...I feel that it does have the potential to hit high 14s. I was gonna weigh my car but I got lazy and left. I'll post up my time slips for you guys next time I get online. Just thought I'd share with you guys what a Sedan can do. Also I did not want to beat up my tranny, powershifting.

not too bad. i have injen cai and greddy evo2 exhaust and i got it to a 14.9. that is the best i can get it because my 2nd gear is crap. u can easily hit high to mid 14's with better tires and getting the launch down. are u dumping the clutch or feathering it? power shifting?

you're right. if u had more runs, you'd definitely be in the 14s. i ran mine. first run was 15.7 and it just got faster and faster. 10 runs or so later, i got it to 14.4 @ 96.76mph. good luck

Re: (originalg00kster)
Why are you so stunned that it's a sedan?
Other than a minuscule amount of added weight, the sedan might actually handle better than a coupe (not much to do with the 1/4 mile, i know) and it runs about the same speed as a coupe as well.

Re: (elohel)
The only way a sedan would outhandle a coupe is if the coupe driver is too afraid to see what the car is really capable of handling wise. I just out cornered a rally red Si a few nights ago doin about 65mph on a 30mph turn.
But honestly I just think he was too afraid to test the car that much. I on the other hand like to know where the limits of my car stand.

Re: (RICO_)
Not essentially true. I was reading that the sedan's suspension was specifically tuned to make up for it being a 4 door, and because of it, it might out handle a 2 door. I guess you would need to run two of them to really compare though.

Re: (RICO_)
sedan is slower...i raced my cousin in his stock for stock..vs my 2 door...and i yanked him by at least 2 cars...and then we switched cars..and i drove his..and i pulled on him about 1 car and half...so it wasnt driver.

If you pulled on him when driving HIS sedan then that means it WAS the driver.

Lol.. As RICO_ pointed out above, it WAS the driver. Do you really think 60 lbs is the difference between pulling 2 cars on someone? Lets be somewhat realistic here man

i think what he was saying is that he pulled 2 cars in the coupe, and 1.5 cars in the sedan, therefor the sedan is .5 cars slower. in a stupid mathematical way, but you get what i am saying.

Re: (bbRedSi)
oops! hahaha what i meant was that he pulled on me about 1.5 car when he was driving my coupe and i drove his 4 dr. instead of him being pulled on by me by 2 cars...do you guys get it?
1st race - me driving my coupe him driving his 4 dr. i won by 2 cars.
2nd race - me driving his 4dr and him driving my coupe. he won by 1.5 cars.
you get it? hahaha. my baddd.

Re: (originalg00kster)
I'm guessing that the sedan was newer than the coupe? (as in, had less mileage and/or not fully broken in yet) That could be a difference. The coupe is not that much lighter than the sedan.

Re: (originalg00kster)
maybe his 4 door is just beat.
65 pounds doesnt give you 2 cars.
who came up with how fast cars are by lengths anyway.
yo man, i beat that 4 door by like 2.37584 cars y0!

Re: (exhaust_note)
naw the sedan was bought around the same time i got mine. we have about the same mileage on both cars. around 7k at the time....but thats what i figured too...65 lbs..that doesnt make a difference...i had my friend in the passenger...and then my cousin had my other cousin in the passenger..but they are both very light..so i'd figure this would be a really close race...but i was surprised.
and when i jumped in the sedan...i noticed that it was a wayyy different feel than my coupe. everything was soo much different imo. the clutch, the shifter, the seat. it felt "underpowered" and i said "damn this **** feels weird" and my cousin goes "oh i know right, i was just about to say that." he says my car feels more "aggressive, more powerful" so i dont know.
