2008 Civic SI Stereo Question...
I am looking at changing out the factory stereo to an alpine cda9887 that I had in my previous car.
I have read all about the dash kits, and how to remove the factory radio. My question is what if I want to keep the factory preamp and door speakers? Is there a specific way to retain them? I do have 2 rockford fosgate power amps that run the subs and the 6 1/2's I bought, but I was almost thinking of not messing with taking the door panels and everything off this time around and just selling the components / amp combo.
So far I know I need this..
Dash Kit
Antenna adapter
Alpine PAC Steering Wheel Adapter
Alpine IPOD Adapter
Anyone help out on this one? I am still searching this site and google, but figured I would throw out the question while I am searching.
Thanks in advance!

Re: 2008 Civic SI Stereo Question...
Someone told me there was a DIY for this....but never gave me a link.
Does anyone have a link to a DIY for this? All I can find so far is how to remove the dash. Scorche/metra dash kits...few reviews on crutchfield. I saw a pretty detailed DIY for someone who installed an ENTIRE system...but that didnt help me since I was asking how to keep the factory system just change the head unit.
Ill keep looking

Well..after much consideration and the DIY on the "other" website it looks like I am going to install my amps after all. Might as well, lol. Thanks for the links!

i'd go with aftermarket, i'm pretty sure an oem one isn't going to be just plug and play, and aftermarket navis are cheaper with more features.
