No sign of knock in idle or rev in park. Something else?

On my way to and from work today I heard a rattle or knock as I accelerated on the interstate. It lasted only for a moment.
Before I left the office, and after I got home, I popped the hood and listened to the engine. I recorded the engine at idle in Park, and recorded from the door as I revved the car up to 4K rpm also in Park. The noise was gone.

I know the main culprit in these situations is rod knock. But apart from these moments on the road - which I could not record for obvious reasons - I have been unable to get the noise to happen.
Any thoughts what else it might be? Or does this only make you more certain this is rod knock?
Alternative Theory 1: Last summer I experienced some inconsistency with my AC. And so I thought it might be related to the AC motor. The AC was on high both this morning and this evening - see also, “Life in Atlanta”.
Alternative Theory 2: I have never had my valves adjusted so far as I know. Though I don’t know if a valve noise would appear intermittently at high rpms.
