Default Lady in distress!! Transmission leak!

Hi. I have a 2006 Honda Accord with over 100,000 miles. I've started to feel a little tiny shudder when it transitions between first and second gear (it's automatic). My mechanic said I have a little fluid leak in my transmission by the torque converter. He said I have to go to the dealership to get it fixed since he didn't have the equiptment to do it. The dealership wanted to charge me $150 for just the estimate and seemed to be talking a lot of B.S. Anyone have any good recommendations for shops? Anyone have any ideas about how much it ought to cost to fix? Also, in the meantime is it okay for me to just keep making sure my fluid level is good (filling it as needed) to float me by for a while?
Thanks for your help!
