2 basic questions...
I have a 2007 Honda Civic LX.
1) Will removing the cat throw a CEL?
2) Will a set of OEM '07+ Si rims/tires fit my car?
Thanks in advance; I'm trying to get some new ideas for my car.

Re: 2 basic questions...
yes to both....
if you take off the cat it will give you a CEL for shure...
and the si wheels will fit you car...
be careful'cause i believe the front ones are a little tricki when installing them...
make shure they clear the rotor and caliper....
but i think you'll be fine...
good luck

Re: 2 basic questions...
Cool...still debating the Si wheels thing though...just thought I'd ask.
As for the cat delete, I'm not too worried about it b/c the state I live in (Alabama) doesn't have emissions inspections yet. I just don't want to stare @ a CEL everytime I go for a drive. I read on another thread that a "de-fouler" would remedy this, but I followed the link on it & it said that it's for a '90-'00 Teg. But my thing is would it work w/my car if I put on the header I found for it & delete the cat?

I never thought about the smell, but again, not caring about emissions since Alabama doesn't require it yet.

Oh & a couple more questions...thanks for all your help so far people...
1) Will a '06+ Si rear wing spoiler fit my trunk lid without extreme modifications?
2) Has anyone used Mishimoto auto tranny coolers on their '06+ Civics? I'm thinking of getting one.

Dude, just go get an Si!
Sounds like you're talking about spending a decent chunk of change here...auto tranny coolers? Are you going to be driving an auto Civic that hard?

Not that you'll ever get tagged, but I believe the penalties are rather harsh, and the gains are minimal.

Re: 2 basic questions...
I guess maybe I am a little confused. The thought the LX did not have a K-series motor and that the Exhaust Manifold was integraded into the head? I though you could not run a header, only a down pipe?
Just asking.
Thanks

Re: 2 basic questions...
1) I don't know how to drive a stick. Nobody ever taught me.
2) Even if I did know how to drive a stick, I don't want to hassle w/trying to find the "sweet spot" for a shift...automatics IMO are more consistent. I'm not building a race monster here; just an above-average street car.
3) Si's, as good as they are & as much as I like them, are WAAAY to common in my town. The closest thing to a modded R18 as of now is a Civic w/a fart can & a huge stereo. I want to top that & do something different than the norm.
4) Due to a couple of speeding tickets & citations for noise ordinance violations w/my last car ('94 Mercury Cougar), I can't afford the insurance for an Si; it would be as much as a monthly payment on it!!
Projected mods will be under $10k...I believe a '10 Si would be a bit more than that? I don't know.
& ChargedSI, yes, the LX does not have a K20 series engine; it has an R18 series. & yes, the exhaust manifold is intergrated into the head. But Megan Racing did create a header for the R18 engine, which is what I will be using. Or @ least they call it a header...it may be a downpipe; not sure. http://www.meganracing.com/products/...d=963&catid=67

Oh, & will using 93 octane hurt my engine? I'm currently running the recommended 87 octane. Thank you all for your help & answering my questions.

Re: 2 basic questions...
For r18 you should run on 87.
And no offense, but you don't want an Si because you cannot afford insurance, yet you are then going to drop $10k in modifications on your r18? Doesn't make much sense to me.
