HFP Suspension...yay or nay?
So driving in LA and planning to keep my 09' SI Sedan for a while, I was looking for a suspension set up that would be quite practical and protect my warranty. I came across a great deal for a brand new set of OEM HFP Suspension which drops the car and inch and stiffens the ride a bit. Since its OEM, it does not void my warranty obviously. Have any of you run this suspension set up? Los Angeles roads suck, especially living in downtown and I figured dropping it an inch would be practical yet functional at the same time. Would you recommend this or no?

No modification to the car voids the warranty. However, a warranty claim against an aftermarket part will not be honored. Since the car not purchased with it, I doubt the warranty would be extended to cover the HFP suspension if installed now.
And yes, LA roads suck. My recommendation would simply be for lowering springs (good brand of you choice) and decent shocks (Koni, Bilstein, whoever makes good strut inserts for the car). Unless you happen to find a great deal on a used HFP suspension, you can probably achieve your desired goals cheaper with true aftermarket parts. |

If you have the cash and want to keep the warranty then yes, do the HFP Suspension. If you want a better drop, better set up of coils, then don't get the HFP, haha!.
Yes, L.A Roads suck balls PERIOD! :( The HFP suspension shouldn't drop you too low. If you're too low in the L.A roads, kiss gooodbye to your front lip, LOL! |

Yea....the amount of potholes and construction and stuff here in LA is horrible. I figure a 1" drop would be just perfect to lower the stance and not have to worry about scratching everything there is...

I was also thinking like the Skunk2 Springs with koni/KYB shocks and struts....

I am running the HFP on my FA5 and love it for what it is. If you want a mild drop with increased spring rates, its the kit for you. The fact that its OEM is another plus, helps ease any warranty claims in the future. We all know the deal with aftermarket parts voiding warranty, but if the dealer can hassle you about one less thing its a plus in my book.
I have tracked the car both before and after the HFP kit and there are marked improvements in body roll and general stability. With that said, over time I will probably swap it out for something more track oriented, but for a dual purpose DD & occasional track setup it cant be beat for the price. -Todd |

You can not void your warranty. If you use an aftermarket part they do not have to repair that part, but the rest is still fine. Should also mention that the part you took off and put in the garage, closet or basement is still covered lol.

i say definitely go for the hfp suspension. it handles much better than stock, is easy to install, and is well worth the price. the drop is not substantial but makes a drastic difference compared to stock.

I also run the Honda HFP Suspension. I really like it. After 3 back operations I did not need something hard as a rock that slammed the car to the ground. The drop is nice and the performance is great (in my opinion), and Honda did not have a problem covering it on my warranty as long as they did the install.

i would def do the HFP suspension its great still carry factory warranty with no camber issues

I've had mine for awhile now and don't really mind it but I grew less fond of the drop, so I'm now looking into coilovers.
