It doesn't use the traditional VSS. The Ouput Shaft Speed Sensor is probably what you're looking for. See image:

Where is this picture focused in from in relationship to the air box ? I cant tell which side of the engine or trans it is in. Does not look like mine. Is this a picture of an SI maybe?
