i get awsome milage with my 06 LX Sedan...no problems with it yet...

running 92 octane

http://www.newjerseygasprices.com register there and then u can use their fuel charts. You get to plug in your price per gallon, amount of gallons purchaced, and then it will calculate a bunch of things for you like MPG and show it on a graph too. Pretty cool.

It will also tell you where the cheapest gas is closest to you!! I'm sure they got stuff for other states as well.

I'm on my 3rd tank (first one free), I didnt keep track of the first tank, but my second tank I got a mean of 35.4 MPG. But I was drivin like a jackass, stompin the pedal, haha. This tank I expect reall good MPG as I am a bit subdued and really tryin to see how high I can get my MPG.

My LX Coupe is getting great milage... a little over 400 miles a full tank consistantly.... awesome!

Gaspar_06_Civic_EX 05-05-2006 03:32 PM

I just turned a 1000 miles today and have never gotten 400 miles per tank. Morelike 300ish miles per 10-11 gallons. This is with a EX sedan with a lot of stop and go traffic and the slightly heavy foot.

I was expecting better but it actually has improved a lil bit

Can you people please calculate your gas mileage and tell us the #? Just divide the total # of miles you racked up since the last fill-up, by the # of gallons it took to fill it up again. It would also be helpful if you went to the same exact pump to fill up the 2nd time. You get much more accurate #s this way.

Saying I got 400mi. out of a tank does not mean much. Did it take 10 gal. to fill up at the end of the 400miles or 12.5 gals driving with the low-fuel indicator light on for the whole day? That's either 40mpg or as low as 32mpg! "I got 3xx or 400" just doesn't tell us what gas mileage you 're getting.

BTW, I got about 36.5mpg on the first tank and 37mpg on the 2nd. I 'm still on the 3d tank with 1100 mi.
LX coupe MT - driving it "granny" style. I can see spirited driving producing poorer mileage though.

I've had three tanks on my Si so far. 27.48 mpg, 29.86 mpg and the last one a fill-up at the track which gave me 20.95, but that included track miles. With the exception of the last tank, that's provably 80% freeway driving.

Once you hit around it seems to be 900 miles it improves.. the Si did at least.

Re: (lilhondagirl)

yeah I'm only on my third tank (about 500 miles) and the mileage has been pretty bad so far. barely making 20mpg with an even mix of highway and in-traffic driving on 91-93 octane. But hopefully the engine will start to free up a little and I'll see some improvement.

900 miles huh? Is that from experience?

I have about 160, 000 on my 96 HX and consistently get around 35-40 MPG city and highway. It's a manual trans.

I find it hard to believe 20mpg unless you are flooring it everytime you accelerate.

Last tank 10.5 gallons 310 miles. EX automatic sedan and lots of short bursts of speed. Havent really grannied it yet as its a lot of fun to drive. Accelerates very well. I also added a KN filter this tank and have been a lil more spirited than usual.

Re: (Gaspar_06_Civic_EX)

Holy cow, you 're getting <30mpg with an EX? That's pretty bad.. Are you racing the car at the light every time or have your foot to the floor most of the time?

Well like I said earlier my 1st tank was 36.5, 2nd 37.0 and now 3d 38mpg!! That's about 80-85% highway. I must admit I thought I thought I'd get less with the 3d tank because I started revving higher trying to brake the car in at most RPM speeds so a lot of my shifts were around ~5K RPM (as opposed to 3500 before) and floored it several times but I still got 38mpg! So far my '06 LX has behaved the same way as my '97 and '01 Civic, which is improved gas mileage with more miles on the odo. My '01 Civic with 170k mi. when I sold it, was still getting 37mpg (granny driving). I think it's all about proper break-in. If you don't break them in properly the first ~800mi. (first 100mi. are very crucial though) you 're not going to see great gas mileage or ever get the advertised mileage on the sticker.

Im getting about 33-34 on my Si. I have gotten better gas and more power as the car gets more miles. Almost at 4k now
