fiberglass fenders and bumper
anyone with an 8th gen civic ever have fiberglass fenders or bumpers? are they lighter?
I heard fitment can be rather poopy.
I got a fiberglass FD2 trunk and it fit ok, needs sanded and paint though. but its very very light. weighs almost nothing.

Re: fiberglass fenders and bumper
If the 8th gen is anything like the 5th and 6th gen, the bumper covers are plastic and already pretty light.
I think fiberglass would not be lighter by much if any at all.
Trunks and hoods are made out of metal so carbon fiber or fiberglass can be a decent weight savings if done right. However, if yer like my buddy who made his own fiberglass hood, it ends up being heavier as it's 3 times as thick as needed lol.
For the bumper covers, I don't think the hassle warrants it unless it's appearance that you are after. Weight savings is going to be nominal in my opinion.
