Driveshaft Popped Out - Civic 2010
Evening All,
Thanks in advance for any answers to my question, I appreciated it's the weekend and you're all enjoying a well deserved rest (hopefully!)
I've been having some incredibly loud road noise for the past few months and have, in my limited experience, put it down to either a wheel bearing, the gearbox, or driveshafts.
Having changed the offside driveshaft and bearing 2 years ago, I started on the nearside one this morning, changing the driveshaft but ultimately leaving the bearing as it didn't seem in any bad shape.
All went fine, however upon driving home, my car, a Honda Civic 2010 V-Tec, Manual Tranny, revved like mad, and I could no longer accelerate. I pulled over and find that the driveshaft had popped out and has spat MTF all over the place.
I managed to get it back in, and drive the final 5 miles home, nursing it all the way.
Any ideas what I've done wrong and why it would just pop out like it did? I'm concerned, seeing as it's my only mode of transport to my work which is 30 miles away.
Any help much appreciated.
Kindest regards,
Liam

Re: Driveshaft Popped Out - Civic 2010
It just sounds like it's bad, there's a lot of parts involved in the axle so a lot can go wrong but it's not really common for an axle to pop out but not out of the ordinary to find it happen. I would just replace it and move on.

Much appreciated for the reply. I'll source another replacement.
