Buddy club n+ coilovers....
well..... first of sorry for my terrible writing....
hahaha/......
i just bought a set of buddy club full coilovers (n+) they came with the upper pillow mount...
i allready install them but something i noticed is that it's making a weird noise...
like if something was loose of something like that....
i all ready take a look on the suspencion to see if there was somehting wrong....
but nothing at all.......
one of my friends told me that it could be because i have to tight the spring first and then lower it on the bottom adjustment.....
i would like to heard some positive and helpful comments....
if you are here to talk shi..t.... dont even botter.....

where is the noise coming from...rear or front? there is a noise that comes from the rear passenger side strut i thin, but i never had these.
i ran these coilovers for 9 months fine. i dont know about what you're friend is talking about. i set the coilovers up the way i wanted my car to sit and then installed them.

the noise is coming from right-front spring....
what my friend told me is that i was supposed to tight the spring first and
then if i want to lower the car do it but on the adjustment down at the bottom....
i saw an thread at ************* where it tell you how to adjust it....
im planing on doing it tomorrow....
will see what happens....

double check the hexnuts at the top mount where the strut shaft is coming thru the camber plates / pillow ball mounts.
if these are loose the strut can rattle like a **** and drive you nuts. if its loose and you let it wear down the shaft you will need to have them rebuilt as a fix (big $$$) and that will suck so check it out asap.
also look for signs of metal dust (bad!) and lube the pillow ball mounts if needed.

i took them out last night and tight them up..... but i havent had the chance to test drive it....

you shouldnt be adjusting the height the spring...that is a set pre-load at like 200mm or something like that. adjust at the very bottom by loosening the lock and spin the whole unit to adjust the height.

it will just affect your ride comfort. But if you lower it, techincally you are putting that load on the shock instead of the spring. Also if u go over a bump lets say and there is not weight on that side the spring will float, instead of having a constant load on the spring.
Think of it this way. Normal preloaded, the spring is constantly pushing up on the car. When u go over a bump the shock compresses and pushes back up and so does the spring.
but if you lower the bottom perch, the spring is now not preloaded and the shock is compressed more.
I think the shock would wear faster, and is not designed to handle the extra load, and your ride feel would be affected.

yes i guess im getting it now... hahaha....
so i have my car lowered the most i can...
the front fender is almost touching the front tire.
and the rear is about 1/4 of an inch fron the tire.
so according to your explanations if the car is really low (like mine)
i have to adjust the pre-load on the front springs..
This are the specs i have right now:
Front pre-load: 200 mm
the car was lowered on the bottom adjustment at: about 2.5 inches(front)
or as far as i could go. because the damper adjustment thing wont let me go any more than tha.
Rear spring is at: 2 inches
Rear shock is at: 8 inches

whoa! ... im going to settle for these. And its smart that i dont touch the preload settings.
Also is the top pillow mount really neccessary? I will be driving the car street, not tracking. Sorta daily driving but also once a while spirited driving..

yes. the whole thing is engineered with tons of r&d. if you mess with it, you just blew the money that they spent on perfecting it.

bringing this thread to life !!! so i have these on my eg hatch and my buddy adjusted the height for me. we put it on the lift and he used the keys to unlock the perch i think thats what they are called and he spun the spring. the spring was going up and he counted 20 threads on each side. my question is by him doing it that way and not taking them off and twisting the bottom did he change the preload ???

it was a nighmare to do stuff my self....
im not really a saabyyy....
but i can try doing shittttttt....
and this one was not letting me do anything....
i got a new car too...
so i dont have to worry about suspencion anymore...
since is a Mugen Si.....

i had really bad noises while turning (popping noise) and clunking over bumps. found my left front bushing right under the top hat was mushroomed and about to fall out. the top hat was literally hitting the plate at the top of the spring. i replaced the bushing and it worked well for about a month and then the noise got TERRIBLE. my friend had the same problem on his FA5 civic si and buddy club told him to replace the top hats but use energy suspension bushings instead because they are ofbetter quality. he did that and the noise came back right away. i am wondering if it is worth me payig the 75 dollars per top hat to replace and see, but if i do all that work, reinstalling them and another alignment with my front bumper of, and the noise is still there, I will be very pissed off...
