Default Brake Caliper Slide Pins..

Question for you guys.. I am in the middle of a brake job for my Civic Si and noticed for both the front and rear calipers there is a grooved and smooth caliper slide pin..?

Well, I did not notice until I had everything torn apart and cleaned and when I started reassembly I never took note on which pin goes in the top and bottom?

So, for the front caliper does the grooved pin go in the top or bottom hole?

For the rear caliper does the grooved pin go in the top or bottom hole?

Thanks guys.

For both front and back calipers, the slide pin with the taper/groove goes on the bottom.

the same thing happened to me when i did my brakes about a year and a half ago. I got them mixed up and had to switch them around the next day.

I was told that if left alone, eventually the pins would lock up the caliper after some amount of time, causing it not to slide properly, and drag the pads on the rotor.
