Re: Am I a fool?
The chassis is the same as the normal si, only shocks/struts and springs are different. Plus how do you charge 10K over a stock si for wheels, exhaust, lip kit, shift ****...theres a reason ours sat on the lot for WELL over a year. If it was a TRUE type r or something then fine, but its not

With respect to whether the OP is a fool or not, only he can be the judge of that, as he is basing his decision on what type of car he wants.
I am just tired of hearing how the Mugen has the same exact performance of the SI because it does not. Now, is it worth 10K more new? That is a subjective question that only perspective buyers could answer. I personally chose to wait to find a gently used one.
Also, Honda didn't market the Mugen to be a Type R. I understand this. I would hope that those who bought it understood that.
And the pricing at 29.5 is simple math. Take a normal 4 door SI, add the retail cost of those parts, factor in warranty for the upgraded suspension and there ya go. Mugen parts are not cheap, included in a car or not.

If it seems like I was lashing out at just you, I was not and sorry if it seemed that way. You did the smart thing and let the og buyer take the huge loss on the price. And yes I know Mugen parts are expensive, I work in a honda parts department and even at employee pricing(10% over cost) **** is outta hand $$$$$

It just seems that many on this board are extremely quick to criticize the car, and not based on performance. It seems that their anger stems from Honda pricing it at 29,500, and not at the car itself. Don't blame the car for Honda's choice to price it so out of market.
