Airbag failure?

So I leased a 2013 Civic LX about a year and a half ago, and unfortunately today I got into an accident with it. It was my fault, and I ended up rear ending another car. When it happened the entire cabin filled with smoke, but the airbag didn't deployed so I thought it might have been the Freon from the AC (I thought it broke). Upon further inspection I noticed that even tho the condenser bend, it did not leaked the Freon. The car still runs and drives, but now it has the airbag light on, and the seatbelt is locked. Does this mean my airbag failed to deploy? Im glad it didn't, but at the same time its kinda scary because what if I was in a serious accident?

Re: Airbag failure?

the smoke that comes out is deployed while the bag is being deployed... don't ask how I know but the got into an spin out on the track and bounced on the curbing a bit and passenger side seat airbag popped and the white smoke powder came out too.

The front seatbelts and buckles deploy during accidents. They will deploy even when no airbags do (lower G threshold for seatbelts); my guess is that's what the smoke was from. The deployed seatbelts, buckles, and SRS control module will need to be replaced.
