2014 Civic Si Transmission HELP!
 
Hey, new to the forums but always roamed the threads, need some help from some master techs and users alike!

I have a 2014 Civic SI, currently on a built bottom and head, (k24z7), turbocharged, roughly at 400whp (ran out of fuel).:mad:
My questions is, I am planning on doing a transmission build for next year, and was wondering if any K series transmission will bolt on to the k24z7 no problem?

I want to have the transmission built on the side so it'll be ready for "when" she decides to break. :cry: I tried asking several shops and nobody seems to have an answer. If anyone has any insight or steer me in the right direction, it would be very helpful!=)

But...why would a trans break at 400whp? You plan on launching this thing with slicks all the time?

Try cross referencing part numbers on bernardiparts.com. Is the Z7 trans case the same as the 8th gen?

Hey, thanks for the reply!

Its not the fear of it breaking right away, I just would like to build one on the side, so the car will have no downtime. I don't plan on taking the car to the track honestly, perhaps once or twice within the season.

I am not sure on the trans case, was hoping some people who worked on the 9th Gen transmission would be able to shed some light.

It’s not the hp that breaks the transmission it’s the torque casing is different would have to run a adapter for 8th gen to make the shifter cables work going into gears

Anything over 350 wtq on that trans in that chassis it’s up to the transmission it will either last for a couple a years or a couple months best thing to do is get a good shifter and don’t grind going into gears if blown transmissions with Kraftwerks kit on stock mounts and just a short throw shifter
