Re: 2010 short shifter
if you get just an adaptor style short shifter, you have to remove the stock shifter assembly and grind it down so the adaptor clears the body of the shift assembly. had to do that for it to fit my 09. theres a DIY thread on 8th civic's forum.

Re: 2010 short shifter
The reason most people get a short shifter is to reduce the shift throw length. I personally prefer the OEM shifter for it's smoothness and precision (not if you have the 3rd gear grind). If I were to change it out it would either be the Mugen SS or I would just replace the stock bushings with beefier ones. Just my two pence.

Re: 2010 short shifter
Then he bought the TWM Performance full replacement and the difference is HUGE. The throws were noticeably shorter than the Mugen SS and everything was so much tighter. I guess it's because TWM uses a full stainless steel metal construction with better bushings and clearances, whereas the Mugen unit is just a OEM unit with a slightly longer arm below the pivot point.
Also you don't get that notchy feeling with the Stage 2 that you get with alot of short shifters. It's as smooth as OEM.
And seeing as the TWM and the Mugen units are almost the same price, you get WAY MORE for your money with the TWM Performance Stage 2 than with the Mugen SS.
TWM Stage 2 FTW
Personally I would just get the TWM Performance Stage 2 though.
