2006 SI 1/4 mile times bone stock?

Im going to the track tommorow with a friend who has a 2006 SI coupe.
I'm wondering the stock 1/4 mile time i should expect on stock tires.
Also im going to be racing my stock 98 ITR, think i can win or what?

Re: 2006 SI 1/4 mile times bone stock? (Freeltec)

Times will vary depending on the driver, if the car is broken in, and the conditions of the track. I will say that I ran mine the day after I bought it with about 200 miles on it and I ran 15.2 with 40 psi in the tires and completely stock...no weight reduction. So far, the times have varied from like 14.5 to 15.5 depending on all conditions.

Hell i've seen them run 14.9 @ 94 mph stock and tonight i saw a intake and exhaust FG2 run 15.8's and 16.2's at 88mph. it's all on the driver

Seemund 08-09-2006 08:47 PM

hey, i want to do it tooo.. i don't know where to go :D
I live in massachusetts.. do you guys know any tracks around here?
thanks

95turbodteg 08-10-2006 02:05 PM

i got a 15.8 with it bone stock, and i was sitting in line to run with the odometer reading 601 miles https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif just enough to be "broken in." but im memphis its about 100 degrees every day with a whole shit ton of humidity. i cant wait til oct when it gets down to the 70s so i can run it. and that time isnt because im a bad driver. i can drive pretty damn good IMO, but weather conditions play a huge part in it. and keep the factory tires to the psi it recommends because thats how those tires perform the best

I ran a 14.8 stock on all season michelins.

CrisEK 08-10-2006 06:51 PM

i'm running on Tuesday at Rt66 in Joliet, IL..bone stock on all season Michelin's...I'll post up results when I get them in.

Freeltec 08-10-2006 07:44 PM

Im running tommorow, ill post my stock ITR times and the 06 SI times.

Demonis 08-11-2006 03:36 AM

Someone on here posted a 14.2 stock 1/4 time up somewhere... youd have to search it. Sounded like it was good driving + good weather on that one.

95turbodteg 08-11-2006 04:41 PM

i know my car is way f-ing better than a 15.8, but there is just too much humidity in the bible belt. i cant wait for it to cool down a little bit so i can go run again. i definitely wanna run again before putting on a turbo kit so i can see how it does stockish.

Re: (95turbodteg)

realistically with good conditions a stock US DC2R should be very close to a stock FG2

stock ITR = 14.4-14.9 at 92-97 depending on the car

the SI is right about the same

they both have LSD

the SI dynos about 175whp stock, where the ITR dynos a little lower, like high 160's

but the ITR is much lighter

so they are very close, drivers race

i would give the edge to the ITR on the drag, where it's a little easier to run fast times, due to its raw direct feel.

my .02

I ran 14.8 at 93mph in my stock fg

95turbodteg 08-13-2006 10:47 AM

i'll load the video later, but last night i raced a 94 gsr integra with a greddy 16g turbo kit. of course i lost, but for a minute there it was kinda close. i've gotta get some slicks because i couldnt for the life of me get decent traction. it could have been the street that we were on, but i still want some slicks. while heating up the tires that were on it, my clutch began to smell absolutely horrible. has anyone else had thsi problem? do all k series stop u at 5500rpm when doing a burnout?

I have to disagree with your Stock SI Dyno number. Mine Dyno'ed at 185. 188 after intake and exhaust. The intake and exhaust had most impact in the midrange.</TD></TR></TABLE>

not all cars are equal

most dont dyno as high as yours

and your dyno might of been different, they are not all the same either

I took my Si to the track on a particularly crappy day. Something was up between humidity/heat and track conditions. A 04 style Si ran a 17.3 or something next to me. I was getting... *duck* high 15/low-mid 16. I made a few runs. I had the stock 18's down to like 22-24psi down from 35. In my experience it was either way too low or I wasnt launching nearly high enough. Probably both.

My last car you practically had to launch at idle to keep from hopping. I severely bogged it. My last car that was definately and most unmistakably slower than this car I ran 15.2x all day long with crappy 2.3 60' times.

I saw 13 second cars making high 15 passes all day long there so Ill probably go back now that it has cooled down a bit and im not incredibly sleep deprived and pull a half decent run out of my ass =P

It should be note that I was getting 16xx and trapping 90 which shouldnt happen =P. Alot of it has to do with me being sleep deprived and tortured every friday lol. I work 3rd shift so I get home from work at 8am and the woman wants to go out and do stuff, so about when we were there I was ready to keel over and fall asleep in the staging lanes.

Anyways, yeah, I just had no idea how to launch this car and since ive practiced a bit. My 60's were TERRIBLE. TERRRRIBLE. I wont even post them https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif I bogged like effin crazy.

The tires felt mushy, but again im not used to this kinda powerband. The 18's (FM901s) have a standard pressure of 35psi, how low should I take em? And I should launch somewhere past 4000rpm? Just how long does it take you to feather out the clutch? And how much of it is throttle control after its all the way out or is it to the floor by the time your clutch is fully engaged?

Try leaving the tire pressure at stock.

I have a feeling those nice-looking HFP factory 18's are going to hinder your overall times a good bit.

CrisEK 08-16-2006 07:11 PM

I ran finally ran yesterday. Bone stock with all seasons..i had consistant runs all night at 15.5 - 15.6 . This is my first time at the track. But my all seasons couldnt hook. My best time was 15.51 @ 93.9 mph. There was an ITR that ran a 14.7 @ 92 mph. My 60ft times were in the 2.5 sec range. The Michelin MXM4s are great all around tires and are very quiet, but are not at all suited for the track. Too much spinning, even if I launched at around 3500 rpm. It was around 80 degrees outside. I didn't have a chance to try power shifting, I was about too but then one of the cars blew up in flames at the track and ended the day short. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the results. With the trap speed I was at, I should've had better times if I had faster 60fts. but the all seasons slip too much. Next time I'll for sure try power shifting, and maybe some better tires. But I really want to see what can be done with these all seasons. It just depends on the track I guess. But on Rt.66 the tires were too hard to grip the track.

Lil Corb 08-17-2006 06:49 AM

just to show how much the LSD helps, I ran a 15.0 at 94mph with bald stock tires in my 02 rsx-s. I have seen people at 94mph run 14.8 in a FG2, and with the extra 200lbs the FG2 has on a 02-04 rsx-s. That dyno of stock FG2s being around 175whp sounds right, I know the balancer shaft comes into play when it comes to parastic drag.
