2006 Civic Manual Clutch not releasing
Hey all, New here and very happy I found you guys here.
I don't even know where to start. Bought the car 2 years ago never had any issues till the last few months. The bottom bolt of the tranny housing to the block was broken i found out and i was losing fluild (found out on the highway when it kept kicking out of 5th gear. The car would become harder and harder to shift and thats when i knew the fluild was getting low. Well for the last month or so once a week id pull the fill bolt and top it up. 2 days ago really rerally cold morning car was fine going into work. Parked outside for 14 hours in minus 40 C weather. When i went to start it WITh the clutch all the way down the car would move when cranking. Checked the system for air bubbles, and know well I don't think it's a normal worn clutch cause before all this started to happen there was NO slippage when accelerating in a higher gear? Im just a back yard diy, never tackled anything like this before. Can you guys tell me anything else to rule out. Pay day I do have a place to work on it if needed, I called and priced out the clutch kit already, really hoping I don't have to rip it all apart, but will if needed as I can't afford the labour of having someone else do it. If you guys have questions fire away ill try to answer any and all i can if possible, Thanks for your time.

Do you park the car in gear? If so, stop until this is sorted. I would put in a complete fresh transmission oil changeout to be sure there are no particles in the oil that will bung up your gearbox. You might have to bleed the clutch and adjust the clutch engagement point so that the clutch is fully disengaged when starting the car. I am sure there is a sticky on how to do this somewhere here. -40C is a hard start on any vehicle ( I know, I live in Canada too ). Hope you get success.

Master/Slave Cylinders most likely bad, if you let car warm up it'll work again. I pulled mine into garage let it sit for 30, started for 10, was able to drive to dealership and it got better the more I drove down road. I wouldn't recommend driving on it this way though, can cause damage to clutch. Just had to replace mine in 08 for same symptoms and now while clutch still acts weird in extreme cold, it does engage/disengage as it should where before there was nothing.
