Re: 07 civic si engine locked
you could buy an engine from a Honda accord k24a4 and do the k24 swap. dirt cheap. not as fast but...cheap
you could buy a new k20z3 engine on ebay for around $1000-1500 shipd to your door. very easy to change out motor.
if you locked up motor you most likely destroyed the crank. so the block/crank/rods most likely is burnt. head might be still good though(worth $)
or do what everyone else does....buy the k24a2 engine from the TSX. swaps right in with crv psgnr mount. and enjoy the extra power and OEMness
a shop will charge you over $3000 for motor and install...

25% LESS power... yeah, not as fast. This is a terrible idea, as in the only reason to do it is you are dead broke... because you are going to hate it. Oh, and you will still need that CRV passenger side bracket and an exhaust manifold change to make it fit and a FlashPro to make it run right... er, slow and crappy.

You said "new" and I know you meant "used"... and even used, I haven't seen any from reliable sources quite that cheap. I did a nationwide search last October/November and decided to do the TSX engine instead because it was far cheaper... and to be honest, I am glad I did. It drives WAY better than my wifey's stock 2.0L car.

Agreed... although a funny story. I just saw a car at my local tuner's shop that came in with a "locked up" engine... and it turned out to be a seized upper idler. So you never know.

You will need a few more items than the right side bracket... like a FlashPro tune and a different exhaust manifold/header... but it is worth it.
a shop will charge you over $3000 for motor and install... Sounds about right. Maybe more.
