Why are the 01-05 civic so cheap and expensive with low and high mileage?
Hi HT members with EM2 and the Ferios!
My moms planning to buy a 01-05 Honda Civic EX (shes looking at the 05 models, coupe).
And well, we have been looking and WTF! How come some of the civics are cheaper and some are more expensive?
Example: lets say we found three different EX types of the 04 models..
1. 04 civic with only 60,000 and the asking price is $4500-$5500
2. 04 model with 120,000 asking price $5000 -$7000
3. 04 civic model with 75,000 miles and the asking price is $12,000- $14,000???
... all clean title but why is it so funky like this?
We were thinking about the 06+ civics but there so cheaply made (interior)
so why is it that the 01-05 civics are like this? Help! THanks

a. Private Party $$ < Dealership Used Vehicle $$
b. Title status. (clean, or salvaged)
c. Possible listing error.
d. Known mechanical problems
e. The sames reasons prices vary on any used vehicle.

Depends if a dealer is selling or not, price will be more money. Also, some private party ppl try and get more money so they list higher.
The car might be salvage, have accidents, mechanical probs, etc.

Those prices are about right to me. Is she looking one straight from the dealer ship?
My 2005 Honda Civic EX Special edition w/ 93,xxx would go for about 13,000 at the dealer ship (Lodi Honda, Stockton Honda, California cities).
And if I had to sell my car, i'd let it go for 7,000 at most.
And when my dad was going to trade in my car for the 2006-2007 Honda Civic Ex, the Honda dealer would only take 4,000 for it for it. So my dad said, if my car was worth $4000 i'll buy 7 of em from you myself and sell them myself. Lol. Hilarious.
