Hello all Civic people...

I have 02 Civic LX...the engine light on and i check with autozone people and run the test. Indicated that i need to replace crankshaft sensor.

Is it easy to replace crankshaft sensor without mechanic? Life getting harder so i don't want to pay
for mechanic if it easy...Please understand and help. Thanks

should be near the crank pulley on the block. dont know exaclty where but look in that area u should see it.

It's just behind the crank pulley, under the lower timing cover. You will have to pull your valve cover, timing covers and crank pulley to get it off and put a new one in. It isn't a "hard" job, but if you don't even know where it is, you're probably gonna have toruble.

Andy is right, but he forgot to mention you have to remove all the belts to get the crank pulley off.

trying to find pictures of were the camshaft sensor would be on a 2002 honda civic lx 4 cylinder 1.7

Under the lowering timing cover, you have to take belts out though and if you cant find it ask someone to help

Seriously. If you can't find it based on the directions in this thread, you should reconsider working on your own car.
