Mine usually kicks in at about 4800-5000 usually from what I can tell.

fventura03 08-31-2006 12:15 PM

that high, i "feel" mine at like 3200rpms.

funz0rzies 08-31-2006 12:32 PM

There's a post somewhere stating when the vtak-e engages depending on the throttle position.

toyomatt84 08-31-2006 12:57 PM

2700 rpm's. This has been asked before. Also, if you plan on changing it, it won't help your hp/tq, and could cause some serious damage.

fventura03 08-31-2006 04:07 PM

all hell brakes loose at 3k rpms

Not everybody knew that, and since you said "K-series", I was elaborating that a K20A has a Vtec kick-in at 5600rpms. Now, if you want to get all offended, that's your problem. But, since you clearly stated generally that 6500rpms was your Vtec kick-in, I was trying to state actual stock numbers. You need to calm down, bud, you won't get very far with nothing but anger.

Yes. You can search a Honda Manual if you like, but it'll tell you the exact same thing.
