Default 2004 Civic Questions

ive got some basic questions regarding a '04 civic.

first problem is, i need a ****ing tachometer. i dont want a single meter to put on the a-arm because that is rice as ****. do they make gauge sets with a tach from OEM standard for these models? if not, does an instrument panel from a '00 si mount straight in?

second, these are D16 engines correct? i have a "VP" model which im guessing is identical to a DX.

third, all 4 lug civics are universal rim combinations? right now im riding on steelies with some POS tires that came with the vehicle. im thinking about just riding my friends spare flakes from his '00 honda and putting some decent tires on them, probably 205's.

if anyone can anserw these basic questions id appreciate it. thanks.

First off,
you can put a ex cluster in ur car that has a tack
2000 si nothing fits in a 2004 civic.
The engines are d17 not d16
as long is the hub fits and its 4x100 they will fit.

okay cool. id probably go with the ex cluster since its cheaper than picking up a DC5 one.

now once i get all these basic out of the way i plan on throwin a 28 turbo on it because we all know hondas are nothing without forced induction. ive had experience with D16's, which is why i asked. do the D17's handle well under boost once you replace the internals or is it just better to swap over to the k20/6speed and boost from there? im just looking for a 310-315 hp/300 torque build.

Not true at all, there some 9 sec honda in general all motor its the way you set it up depends on how it runs, so not all honda's are slow.

And theres many kseries em2 on here i can name a hand full of them and there quick, boosting a motor takes alot of experience and knowledge and money, IMO n.a is the best way to go, but thats my opinion

ive never seen a 9 second n/a honda in my life. not saying it isnt possible, but thats dumb. ive got experience, knowledge, and money i just dont know much about these D17 engines. i normally only deal with american v8 vechiles so this is something new.

i will just do more research, ive heard this is the best honda forum so yea.
