04 Civic shift lock engaged... rear brake lights not working
Hey
Seems we have to insert our key into the shift lock hole to disengage the shifter. Research we have done tells us the shifter is locked because there is something wrong and should be coded to determine whats up. Our brake lights are not working (none of them). I have a gut feeling it is the brake light switch.
Any thoughts on how to determine what it might be, tricks on ruling different items out?
Thanks
Brian

Re: 04 Civic shift lock engaged... rear brake lights not working (bellyboy)
thanks
it was the brake light switch, right at the brake pedal. it cost 9 bucks.
it also does something for the cruise.
so if you brake lights dont work and you cant get your stick out of park it is very good chance you need a brake light switch
