Tire Sizes

For those of you with 15" wheels, what size tires are you running on? I'm running on 205/55/15's, but I having some doubt about them. According to the tire calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html), I'm only going 59.2 mph when the speedo says 60 mph, with the tires I'm running on http://is.rely.net/1-92-30009-l-tEzP...BTGi0jOCgA.gif . Just wanna ask around to see if there are better tire sizes to keep the speedo accurate. Thanx.

215/55/15's would be the closest 55-series sidewall.

Yeah, but I couldn't find a tire of that size https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif .

What would be better to run?

Out of these two:
215/55-16 or 205/55-16

Out of these two:
215/50-16 or 205/50-16

I'm actually leaning towards 215/50-16. I think i'm running 205/50-16.

http://www.miata.net/cgi-bin/tirescgi I used this to compare 185/65-15

I would go with 215/50/16's: more grip, better response. Just my 2 pennies https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Re: (baiwldrnner)

Will it rub? - my fenders are rolled.

Would it still look like side walls?

Re: Re: (oddmut)

Naw it won't rub. 7th-gen civics can have a tire width of up to 215mm, and a rim width of 19 inches. So ur safe https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif .

Sidewalls, uh, some but not too much, at least better than 15" wheels.

I have 215/50/16's on my R/C Starks. Check the picture thread for recent photos. They're identical in height to the stock size, so there's no loss/gain on the speedometer/odometer/trip meter. And, they're probably the best option out there.
