Steering Vibration when braking at highway speeds
Hello
I have a 2002 Civic EX coupe with 93k miles. When I am apply the brakes while driving above 60mph I get strong vibration/shimmy in the steering wheel. I do not get a shimmy/vibration at high speeds when the brake is not applied. The tires have still have 80% life and I rotate them fairly regularly, the brakes rotors are original but were turned approx 20k miles ago when I changed the brake pads (replaced w/OEM). I commute 25 miles to work daily and think that it is probably warped rotors but would like your guys opinion. Thank you in advance.

Re: Steering Vibration when braking at highway speeds
all you have to do is take your rotors off and go to a place around town that will turn them for you. easy fix no need to buy new ones and waste more money. O'Reilly auto parts turns them near me. if that helps

Re: Steering Vibration when braking at highway speeds
Thank you all. The rotors were turned about 20k miles ago and at that time I replaced the pads with new ones. While I expected this to eventually happen, I did not think it would happen so soon after changing the pads. I am going to check the wheel bearings and upgrade to brembo rotors w/new pads. I will post the results once this is done.
