Squealing noise
Hey guys I need your help. I have a 2003 civic EX and I've been dealing with this squealing noise for sometime now and cannot seem to figure out what it could be. My guess would be the timing belt. This motor has about 75k on it and everything was changed about 40k miles ago. The noise occurs at highway speeds between 60-70 MPH.

Re: Squealing noise
Without more info, could it be wind noise? Timing belts don't generally squeal. If they did, that means it is slipping and well that would probably mean your car would stop running.

No it's definitely not the wind. It sounds like the belt rubbing. It occurs when I go at high RPM's. If I go open throttle and let off the throttle completely it happens again. It's really concerning.

Re: Squealing noise
Agree I don't think its the Timing belt.
Could be those 2 power belts outside.
Check Power steering pulley, Alternator, A/C compressor they all have bearing pulleys
are the Belts Tensioned properly?
Try Belt Dressing spray at autozone.
