AC question
Hey guys, I have an 02 civic lx, my AC used to run great and blow cold but lately it will blow air but it won't be cold anymore... I thought, either frion or something is up with my compressor. Then I realized the heater works perfectly, does this rule out the suspicions of a ruined compressor? I'm hoping its just frion... how can I know?

Re: AC question
To check refrigerant charge pressure you need to hook it up to a set of AC gauges. They should be around 70 psi, with the car not running, and at around 70 degrees F.

Re: AC question
You can see and hear it activate.
What are the radiator and condenser fans doing? (condenser fan is next to the radiator fan) Do they both run when you turn on the A/C, or are all three components failing to work?

Re: AC question
It could be a number of different things. It could be low on freon and you're checking the gauges wrong or low on freon and your gauge is reading all the air in the system. It could be the orifice tube, it could be a dirty condensor, it could be many things. To be quite honest, I wouldn't even mess with it if I didn't know anything about A/C, I would just fork out the $55 to have a shop check/charge the system.
