ok this started to happen about yesterday when i was driving to a location. i was at the stop sign and i started taking off, M/T, in 1st gear and i step on it till about 4000 rpm because the injen sri sounds cool, anyways, right before i shifted into 2nd it made a loud poping noise i thought i ran over a bottle but i didnt. then today it did it again when i was in 2nd gear i was going in and out of the gas pedal in between 2500-3000 rpm and make a loud pop noise again.

when is causing this loud pop noise?

backfire through the intake, it's normal when you dog the crap out of your car.

ive never had an intake backfire when i dog my car... sounds fishy to me.

that happened to be ONCE before. when i first got my intake and installed it, i heard that pop and almost **** my pants when i heard it. i also smelled burning too.

well my intake has been installed for about a month and half. it made the pop noise yesterday and and it did it again today.

some say it is the timing and explosion is going up into the intake? could this be

yea, thats called a backfire.

I have a K&N intake and redline (6500-7000rpms) my car WOT every so often (Maybe 1-3 times a week) and I've never had this happen.

thats because the car burns up all the fuel. best way to do it is to drive at around 2000-2500 rpms for about 20-30 seconds. then hit WOT momentarily. it'll work 9/10 times.
