Default Honda Civic 2005 power connection problems?

Yesterday i was driving my car in some heavy rain on the freeway when my engine cut and I lost all power fro 2 seconds until it came back on. I didn't think much of it until this morning when I tried to start my car, Nothing. The car wouldn't start, the brake lights wouldn't come on and all the lights were dead. I jumped it with another car and the engine started right up, but when i unhooked it and tried to turn on my headlights, the engine quit immediately. I jumped it again and even letting it run for a while, the head lights killed the engine. I tried one more time but this time as i closed the hood to the car the engine died. I really don't know what happened. I checked the fuse box and all were fine. My best guess is that there was a short with the rain or just a poor connection between the battery and the engine. I have worked with the battery a bit but not a lot and I didn't see anything change. If I cant find a fix for it, I'll have t tow it ot a car mechanic soon.
