P1457.
I got this code on my 2003 Civic Coupe.
I'm wondering what it could be?
My car has 100 000 kilometers and it has the automatic transmission.
I consume as much fuel as a big V6!
Anyone ever had this code and what did you do to resolve the trouble?
Let me know if you know, thanks!

Re: P1457.
Leak in the EVAP canister system. May be the canister, a valve , or just one of the hoses is rotted out.
There's 10 pages of diagnostic tree for this code in the service manual so, I doubt anybody will expend that much effort.
You need a service manual. You can get a download or CD on eBay for real cheap or a paper manual here for about $60: http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage...Aw&usg=AFQjCNF You'll also need a vacuum pump like this one to properly diagnose this code: http://www.harborfreight.com/mityvac...ump-39522.html

Re: P1457.
Being that it is a 1457 code, and not a 1456, it is probably not your gas cap. However, I would start by checking it anyway.
If you are mechanically inclined enough to trouble shoot the system yourself, refer to https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ght=1456+solve
I am having a related problem, and this has been the best source of information so far.

Re: P1457.
Fuel vent modulator is a common problem in these vehicles as well (evap system). But suggestions above about the canister or canister vent shut valve are also good places to start.

did you consume this much fuel before the code or only after the code appeared?
