HELP!!! My 01 civic ex coupe seems like it has no power
I just picked up 01 civic coupe when i was driving the car in the start it was driving fine but after awhile the check engine light came on and then it felt like it had no power to it. The oil also looked really dirty when i checked the dipstick. Should i return/sell the car or try and get it fixed. Please help me out here im trying to figure out what the problem could please and thank you.

Re: (toyomatt84)
yesterday i did a few normal maintance things like oil change and a few other things and the car was driving fine then when i was taking up onto the highway it randomly did it again where it seemd like there was no power to the car at all.

Go to autozone and get the code read. That will at least give you someplace to start diagnosing the problem. But if you just bought it, I'd take it back to the dealer and have them fix it.

Re: (Khanster)
It happened to me once. I was driving up to Reno and after 2 hours of driving going up and down hills, i would try just flooring the car and it wouldnt go anywhere, it would just stay at 60 or whatever speed i was going at. Maybe it was high altitude or something i dont know, but as soon as i got home, to i guess you could say regular elevation the car was fine, im pretty sure its a more simpler than an elevation change but i had the same problem.

DTC P1298-ELD circuit high input
DTC P1362-No signal from TDC sensor circuit 1
DTC P0141-Primary O2 sensor heater circuit failure
DTC P0420- Catalyst system below efficiency threshold
DTC P1361-Intermittent Interuption in TDC sensor 1 Circuit
Basically most of the DTCs stored will give you a lack of power, especially the tdc codes. The eld code may be from a failing alternator, but I have also seen it come on if the battery was jump started at one time. Did they tell you if any of the codes were history or if they were all current? From the looks of things you most likely need the tdc, primary and cat replaced(common issues). The eld code was probably a history code, I would fix the other issues first then reset and see if that dtc returns.

Re: (90lsteg)
would you recommend getting the car fixed or just return it. I believe they are current not 100% sure though. I ended up returning the car and im thinking if I can find a good 6th generation civic ill get by with that ><
